1. Always, always, always format the drive that you are going to use in the player connected by USB to your PC. Nowhere else, no other option, that's it!!!

2. Always use FAT32 as the format for the whole drive if you can.

3. I've done some testing here on the 368 Media Player. Installed a Samsung 1Tb HDD internally, recognised and tested fine. Left the 1Tb drive in and tried connecting external USB's (10Gb-1Tb) and none were recognised correctly.

When I installed a 500Gb drive in the player, all external HDD's were recognised from a 10Gb IDE drive in one of our U2523 enclosures to the 1Tb Samsung installed in our S3510 enclosure and a Western Digital MyBook 1Tb.

This suggests to me that the 1Tb HDD installed internally is really pushing the limit of the native operating system.

Also, from a speed point of view, accessing media becomes slower as the directory structure and file count increases. This is not only on MIDTE players but Ziova's and D-Links that I have helped develop and test.

I would ALWAYS suggest that large drives are partitioned into smaller subsets and the media split accordingly. In the MIDTE players case, I would also suggest that the first partition of the internal drive be formatted as FAT32.
